Kathy (Bair) Hansen-Nord is an attorney licensed to practice in Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Maryland, dedicated to providing her expertise and passion for assisting others to solve their legal matters or design a solution that works best for their situation.
Born and raised in Snyder County, Pennsylvania, Kathy grew up on a farm, spending her formative years riding and training Quarter Horses and competing in horse shows and rodeos. She graduated magna cum laude in both her undergraduate and law degrees.
Kathy brings over 30 years of legal experience assisting clients from more than 35 countries to her private practice, providing clients personalized service, sophisticated counsel, and dedicated advocacy. Her career as a paralegal, and later as an attorney, spans decades in both private practice and elite public service, most recently serving as a senior attorney for NATO’s Allied Command Transformation (ACT) in Norfolk, Virginia.
At NATO's ACT, Kathy founded the Office of the Legal Advisor’s Personal Transition Support Section where she was responsible for delivering and supervising thousands of instances of legal assistance annually to NATO families, while serving as a NATO legal subject matter expert with responsibilities including consumer protection law; immigration law; contract law; innovation and emerging technologies law; and international and treaty law. Kathy concluded her NATO service in June 2026 to dedicate her time to her legal practice, delivering specialized legal counsel and advocacy.
